If race car design could be translated into an eyeglass frame, it would resemble the Columbia frame. Contemporary with an aerodynamic appearance, this unisex frame is sleek and sporty. Beginning with the materials, the Columbia incorporates a minimum of lightweight metal into it's semi-rimless rectangular style. This means that the transparent lower half of the frontal lens area actually disappers into the face. The equally transparent nose pads are flexible enough to adjust, cradling the nasal bridge, just as a race car seat deftly surrounds the driver.
Equal parts metal and plastic, the linear "grip style" temples stay the course throughout a busy work and/or recreation filled day. They are designed to resemble the dashboard of an automobile cabin, or perhaps the spokes of a high-performance steering wheel. The plastic is skillfully blended with streamlined perforated metal.
The light-absorbing matte finished color choices echo the overall high-tech motif of this frame. Whether matte black, matte coffee, or matte platinum/black, the Columbia frame commands the field.
